David Anspach opened the meeting. Pledge of Allegiance was led by Chuck Huber. There were 19 members audibly present. Mike Lamb introduced our guest speaker CEO and President Dan Mann from the Lighthouse. He spoke about programs for people who have been through the Lighthouse and people who need education for employment. Scott Carlisle read the treasurers report. The beginning balance of general fund is $861.47. The beginning balance of the Jill Carson memorial fund is $810.00. We had no expenditures or deposits. Motion to accept the Treasurers report as read was made by Mike Lamb, seconded by Janice Snow and was carried. Debbie Heitla gave a recap for the bike ride and the picnic. We brought in $1,116.00 from the bike ride and out of that $425.00 is being returned for advertising to the Jill Carson fund. Debbie was repaid $150.00 for food. The beer and printing was donated by Chuck Hietala and John Carson. We profited about $600.00. Debbie and Chuck thanked all members for making the bike ride a success. Mike Lamb suggested for the picnic next year we reserve shelter 5 again and also that we have the picnic on the third Saturday of October and call it our monthly meeting. We had a spot on News Channel 10. Chuck Hietala has the link if anyone wants it. We need to make sure we have signs to carry next year. We made $500.00. Out of that we paid $200.00 for the PA system, $40.00 for drinks and $150.00 for food so we ended up with about $80.00. We watched the news tape that Mike Lamb had gotten from News Channel 10. Mike Lamb suggested that we put McDonald’s on our website as a sponsor. They donated drinks, cups and they handed out flyers the week before the picnic. Mike made a motion that we have our next picnic on October 18th and make it our monthly meeting. The motion was seconded by Janice Snow and carried. Chuck Hietala made a motion that we have the picnic again at Lake Seminole Park shelter 5 and do our crossing at Park Boulevard and Starkey Road with headquarters at McDonald’s. Discussion was made about police presence at the crossing. It has to be paid for. Mike didn’t think it would be a problem because they would write a lot of tickets. David suggested we discuss it in further detail later. The motion was seconded by almost everyone. Scott introduced our new applicants for membership. Eric Davis and Patty Orochi. Mike Lamb made a motion that we accept Eric and Patty as members. The motion was seconded by Debbie Hietala. The motion was carried. Janice Snow mad a motion that we hear the minutes from September at our next meeting due to time. The motion was seconded by Scott Carlisle and carried. David Anspach said we need to think about our Christmas party. Debbie Hietala suggested that instead of making a dish we all pitch in $10.00 for food. There was a suggestion made that we make a menu and everyone draw an item and bring that. We will discuss it further. David Anspach made a motion that we adjourn the meeting. The motion was seconded by Debbie Hietala and the meeting was adjourned.
